Pushy parents of the YouTube generation

No longer are children pulled from pillar to post to audition, instead, they are now captured on film doing sweet or outrageous things to gain them, and more importantly their pushy parents, YouTube hits. The fixation with making children into superstars used to involve beauty pageants, excessive sporting events and other similar delights, but the internet has made it even easier to put your children out there without having to make as much effort. The baby in this video didn’t even have to wake up! In a world where our lives orbit around technology, we seem to have no boundaries when it comes to the exposure of the next generation. Images and videos of young babies, toddlers and school children are so freely uploaded without any thought about how this content could be used.
Like I have said in an earlier post, if we give everything about us and our family to the cyberworld, what do we have left to ourselves? With photo albums collecting dust and home videos having seen better days, it’s seems their time is over, but the infatuation of documenting absolutely everything is far from finished.
So, why do parents record their children? Clearly it’s because they think their children are amazing. Or in the case of this video, our grown up star probably thought the world couldn’t live without seeing his pupeetering skills.
Cute baby though!
